Television
I’ve been honored to have been a guest on NewsCenterMaine’s morning show on several occasions.
Understanding the recruiting calendar and when to start your search is critical to success. Many college seniors (and parents) are surprised to learn that fall is primary recruiting time for college seniors. Over 75% of companies utilize on campus visits as their primary recruiting tool. So, it’s the one thing you definitely don’t want to miss. To hear my complete list of tips for a successful job search, click here to watch the full interview.
Lee Nelson, co-anchor of WCSH6’s morning news program, interviewed me on the topic of how to get the most out of your summer internship. In case you missed it, you can watch it here.
I also appeared on WCSH Channel 6’s morning news program discussing the current job market for recent college graduates. There’s good news since that interview – the job market is much stronger for recent grads yet the advice is still relevant today. Live television is way outside my comfort zone but as I tell my clients, growth occurs on the edge of discomfort. Perhaps this is how you feel about job interviews. The lesson – if you prepare, it usually turns out just fine.
I have also appeared on WCSH Channel 6’s 207 program with one of my former clients, Sara Fay. It was the first ever appearance on television for both of us and Sara totally nailed it. Hopefully, you are nailing your job search too. If not, I can help.
Radio
Host Jennifer Rooks of Maine Public Broadcasting Network’s radio program Maine Calling, interviewed me and Meg Springer, of Bowdoin College’s Career Planning office , and David Ciullo, president of Career Management Associates on the topic of job prospects in Maine, search strategies and finding satisfying work.
I have written numerous articles for the Bangor Daily News business section on job search strategies and career advice, with a focus on new and young professionals. Below are links to a few of my more popular articles.
